Chris Perkins, one of the more prominent faces in 5e’s publishing material, was promoted to Creative Director at Wizards of the Coast. Perkins confirmed the promotion, stating that it was a more “behind-the-scenes” role and that players may not see him as much.
Wizards posted a preview of the new DM’s Screen that accompanies the Dungeon Master’s Guide. I don’t use DM screens due to playing online, but it's still nice to see it.
Travis McElroy, the “Middle-est” brother from The Adventure Zone, will appear as a guest at the Broadway-based Twenty-Sided Tavern. I would have preferred Griffin, but we’ll take what we can get.
Our Brilliant Ruin, Student Hermitage’s Victorian-inspired TTRPG about monsters and society, is getting its own comic book published by Dark Horse. OBR is a smaller game that’s made quite a bit of noise in the TTRPG community with the successful launch of its first book and the audio-drama podcast it is currently running.
The Good Time Society hosted a one-shot titled “Adventurers for Harris” on Sunday in hopes of raising funds for Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign. The game was DMed by Jasmine Bhullar (NY by Night) and included the players Sean Astin, Aabria Iyengar, Anjali Bhimani, Bex Taylor-Klaus, and Becca Scott. Players were encouraged to donate $35 or more in order to influence the game through specific voting opportunities. It’s the latest effort presented by the TTRPG community to support the Democratic candidate.
